We have seen what E-Learning can do for business, but now M-learning is sweeping through businesses. The reason for this is the mobility of learning from anywhere at any time. Learning modules can be created for businesses to educate their salespeople, marketers, and any other employees in the field. There are already many companies who are producing software and mlearning programs for businesses. There are many different types of mobile learning devices, which most people already own and use on a daily basis. Cell phones, mp3 players, and tablets, are just a few devices. Many people have smart phones which only get used to make phone calls or text messaging, but they are actually much more than that. While searching on Google, I found a company who actively is creating apps for mlearning which you can see at http://www.thinqed.com/products/journie/index.php -

Watch what you search for?
One big thing that I learned in chapter 3 was to be careful to ensure the information your search produces is acurate and from a reliable source. In my searches in the past week, I have been really looking into the search results being produced by my searches and realized just how many things were produced that were more geared towards advertising a product, than giving accurate, unbiased information.

Kid Friendly Searches!!
As a father, it is important to me to keep my children safe from unwanted information from a search engine. In chapter 3 of Discovering The Internet, by Shelly, Napier, and Rivers, it mentions a Childrens web Search called Fact Monster. I tried a search that would normally come up with a lot of unwanted information for a child ie: SEX. When I entered that word, it came back with clean definitions and examples of things like Fair Sex : Women collectively. etc... Thank you Fact Monster!!!
Screen capture problems!!!
I have been doing screen captures and video screen captures with Jing, but cannot seem to get them into Blogger. What is going on here? Anyone have any suggestions??????

Google Search
Using search engines is huge in web browsing. Without the right search engines being utilized, you are stuck either memorizing web site url's or possibly going around in circles of inadequate information. Check out a quick demo search I did on Google. Even though it was a popular search topic probably, you'll see how quick google is and how accurate its searches are.

Chapter 2 - What have I learned?
Chapter two carried over alot of information from chapter one, but went into much more detail. It more thoroughly defined that an IP address is the address that a computer is located on the internet. I defined what a web page consists of, and that a web server is the server that is a computer on which the web pages reside. When you type in the URL of a web page, the browser retrieves the pages for viewing from this server. Once you find the web page, you can store it in favorites or create web slices for faster viewing at a later time. A great example of this is online banking web sites that you view often can be saved as favorites, along with the login and passwords for these sites that can be automatically filled in when logging in by storing them as "cookies" in your computer's memory. You can also save a copy of a web page for future viewing on or off line. This is made possible because, once saved, it is now on your computer, rather than having to view it from the web server. The only difference is that it will not update when the original page is updated or changed.
There are many things you can personalize on your browser for easier and nicer viewing. There are many options for your browser such as favorites, links, and toolbars. You can also choose what page you want to start whe you first open your browser. I have now found that symaloo works very well as a start page for your browser if used like a "map to the web."

Net Neutrality: Here now, or not
Net Neutrality is a topic of interest of late. This topic is best summarized as keeping the internet free to choose what you view and how you view it. We already pay to have access to the internet, but some providers would like to have us pay to access the sites we wish to use, or for us to utilize sites instead that benefit them. this will make the internet as rediculously expensive as having cable these days. I we want to use google, will we have to pay for the ultimate Google Pak that also include 50 other sites that we have absolutely no use for? I think the definition is very well stated at savetheinternet, com stating "Net Neutrality is the guiding principle that preserves the free and open Internet." It goes on to say " It protects the consumer's right to use any equipment, content, application or service without interference from the network provider. With Net Neutrality, the network's only job is to move data -- not to choose which data to privilege with higher quality service. I have posted a video I found at savetheinternet.com Let me know what you think! What are your opinions on this subject? I also posted a cartoon that sums it up a bit alos on the right. Twitter updates
Today I have updated my twitter page. I set up a background and a few lists. I think it came out ok. So far I don't see what the big deal is with twitter. It doesn't seem to be that informational, more like just a way to keep track of complaints. Either way, I have finished getting it set up and am going on to see what else it is good for. How has everyone else in Web 2.0 been doing with this so far?????
